Today’s business world is characterised by increasing levels of uncertainty – and so are today’s projects. Project management originates from engineering, the world of mathematics and certitude. But it is increasingly applied to softer issues, from organisational change and product development to marketing and even scientific research. How can we design, plan and execute projects that are more like expeditions, that are ventures into the unknown?
To answer this question, we can derive one dozen important lessons from one of the most famous expeditions in history: Christopher Columbus’ discovery of America.

This highly interactive workshop is presented by Markus Koerner of Agora Associates, Zurich. Markus Koerner is an internationally recognised innovator of project management practices. He has 18 years of experience as a project leader and project advisor and has authored numerous articles and conference papers on project management.
